About Aslan Renewables

Across North America, rising electricity demand and growing pressure on the grid are creating an urgent need for dependable clean power. At the same time, thousands of dams, weirs, and other water-control structures sit dormant.

Aslan Renewables was founded to unlock this overlooked hydropower potential. We are building a new generation of small hydro that can bring reliable, low-impact electricity to communities while making better use of the waterways and infrastructure that already exist.

Backed by leading clean-energy investors and partners, and working alongside First Nations, utilities, and local communities, Aslan is entering an important stage of growth. We are bringing our first commercial systems to market and working toward a future where distributed hydro plays a much larger role in delivering clean, resilient baseload power.

The Role

We’re hiring a Mechanical Engineer to help define Aslan’s product platform through early commercial deployments. This role will work closely with suppliers, engineering specialists, and development partners, using what we learn in the field to make the system more practical, reliable, and easier to deploy.

You’ll work across the full product with a particular emphasis on mechanical subsystems including turbine interfaces, piping, and electrical integration.

This is a high-ownership role on a small but mighty team, with meaningful influence over how the product evolves across generations.

What You’ll Do

You will help carry Aslan’s first commercial system through build and commissioning, while using what we learn to shape the next version of the product. The role combines real technical ownership with the discipline to make sure critical design knowledge stays within the team as the product evolves.

In this role, you will:

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a practical and curious mechanical engineer with experience developing physical systems. You should be comfortable moving between engineering work and hands-on problem-solving. You do not need to arrive with every answer, but you should know how to break down unfamiliar problems, test assumptions, document decisions, and follow technical issues through to resolution.

You should bring:

Why Join Aslan

Aslan is at a defining moment, where early deployments will shape the platform behind a new category of distributed clean energy infrastructure.

We are venture-backed and supported by leading partners, including Antares Ventures, MaRS IAF, UCeed Energy Fund, and Temasek Foundation. Aslan has been recognized as one of Canada’s emerging clean infrastructure companies, including being named to BetaKit’s 2026 Most Ambitious list.

You will join a small, highly capable team working on a physical-world problem with meaningful energy, environmental, and community impact. You will have the opportunity to rethink an area of infrastructure that is often treated as inherently bespoke and help build a faster, more product-driven way to bring clean-energy systems into the field.
